"I just told him, don't be scared [...] just be comfortable with yourself..." - Fetty Wap
Fetty Wap found his place in the spotlight in May of 2015 when "Trap Queen" hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Shortly afterward, he secured his first record deal and pushed out two more hit tracks, "679" and "My Way". But let's cut to the chase: Talented, cool, one eye.
Sorry, I didn't know how to broach the subject... He chooses not to wear his prosthetic eye, and has turned his unique look into his trademark, possibly brining him more success and attention than he otherwise would have received.
Recently, he heard about Jayden Burgos, a young kid who also has one eye. Fetty reached out to encourage the little guy to help him embrace what sets him apart.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club Power 105.1, he described the phone conversation he shared with the 10 year old.
"He made me feel blessed. I don't like to be a role model because sometimes your words can be taken too literally... I just told him, don't be scared. It's not just gonna be easy now. The Fetty Wap wave is gonna be over one day then everyone's gonna start being mean again. If that's what you're going to do, just be comfortable with yourself, not just because of somebody else." - Fetty Wap
